Jul 11 - River Cafe's Strawberry Sorbet - A kumquat variant.

Fresh strawberries personally handpicked, the inherent pride ensures that you want to showcase the berries at their purest. This recipe is nothing short of genius, and is included as part of Kirsten Miglore's book 'Genius recipes' . I did play around with the ingredients. Instead of using lemons, I preferred kumquats (cut and de seeded). Here's the link to the recipe,  use a cup of de seeded kumquats instead of the 2 - 3 lemons for this particular version.

Northern India especially the region of the Punjab, is known for its Lassi, a rich creamy frothy concoction of fresh, home made yogurt churned up and served with a pinch of black rock salt, or a sweet version with sugar and sometimes a hint of rose water. My blog really taught me the meaning of 'time flies when you're having fun'. It seems like such a short while ago that I started the blog and would go through long hours hitting my head against a proverbial wall trying to think of what I should post for recipes. It took for ever to even come up with just five ideas, leave alone the methods that I had to come up with to create a unique dish that I could refer to as my signature style.
